New Balance 805 Running Shoes
By James Wikman
Everyone knows that New Balance makes running shoes. What they don't necessarily know, however, is that this company makes a wide variety of different running shoes. There are shoes specifically designed for running on trails, for example. There are also an abundance of different fits. Width, in particular, seems to come into play a lot when people are choosing shoes. So what the New Balance 805 shoe have that other NB shoes don't. Well, that's what this article is about. In the following text, we'll outline the features and benefits that the 805 brings to the table. Before going there, though, here's a brief overview of what New Balance, as a company, is all about.
They are based in Boston and pride themselves on creating quality shoes. They don't have the advertising budget of Nike or Reebok, but I see this as a good thing. You see, New Balance is recognized as one of the leading innovators in an industry that is constantly changing. Research and development is a massive part of this company's mantra. A lot of these unique technological developments can be found in the shoe that we're looking at today.
New Balance 805 Running Shoes - Features And Technology
The first thing worth mentioning about the 805's is the fact that they are part of New Balance's "Speed" collection. This means that if you are looking for a shoe to go for casual jogs in, the 805 probably isn't for you. It's meant for sprinters and hardcore athletes. If you do a lot of power drills and using sprints as a way to get fit, you should definitely check this shoe out. Here's some of the technology that New Balance has incorporated into the 805.
First off, the sole of the shoe is broken into three parts. The heel features Ndurance rubber which is soft and flexible. This is great for trainers who strike the heel really hard when they run. The mid sole also offers a unique piece of technology called Acteva Lite. It too acts to soften the step, while still providing better than adequate traction for the athlete. The forefront of this shoe is covered with a very sturdy bit of traction. This, naturally, is for the starting block. You need to have a good grip when you take off. Other features on this shoe include New Balance's patented ABZORB shock absorption system which prevents injuries and allows a more enjoyable run.
One of the neatest things about the New Balance 805 mens and womens running shoes are the laces. They are called "Sure Lace" and are basically guaranteed to keep your shoes on tight. Nothing is worse than having a bit of rain or slush unravel your laces while you're own pace for a new sprint record. This new bit of technology by New Balance makes sure that this never happens.
The final thing worth mentioning about these shoes is the fact that they are available in multiple widths. This is great because it means the runner can find a shoe that fits properly. All in all, these are great runners - as long as you're using them for intense speed training. Have you tried the New Balance 805's? What do you think? I'd love to hear from you.
