How Much Does Eyebrow Implant Surgery Cost?

By

It's no longer a secret that one of the easiest ways to make yourself more attractive is to improve your eyebrows. While the role they play in the appearance of our faces is subtle, it's also extremely important. I like to think of eyebrows as a picture frame of sorts. They surround the more important features of the face like the eyes and mouth, providing balance and cohesion to a person's natural beauty. They can also help with providing a more symmetrical face. Facial symmetry is a universally accepted determiner of beauty for both men and women.

What if you aren't born with great eyebrows though? Your right one may be thinner than your left one or vice versa. You may also find that there isn't quite enough hair in your brows in order to style them properly. This can make it quite hard to achieve that "frame" that encloses the rest of your beautiful face! It's also tough to get a symmetrical left and right half of the face if one eyebrow is way thicker than the other. Don't worry. Many people aren't blessed with great eyebrows. They're forced to use tools like eyebrow pencils and tweezers to beautify their brows. This can be tedious, and at times, ineffective though. Isn't there a more permanent method out there?

Of course there is! One of the most popular cosmetic surgeries these days is the eyebrow implant. If you're not familiar with how this surgery works, it's fairly simple. Here's a quick explanation: Hair follicles are taken from the patients scalp and grafted, very carefully, into the area above the eye. Note that I mentioned the fact the follicles were transferred. The follicle is basically the "root system" of the hair and allows for regrowth if the hair it's housing happens to fall out. What this means is that at the end of the procedure, the patient is left with eyebrows that grow naturally. They can be shaped, plucked and waxed to any style imaginable.

Factors That Determine The Cost Of Eyebrow Implant Surgery

Like any cosmetic surgery, the eyebrow transplants cost a fair bit of money. A ball park figure off the top of my head would be somewhere between $2500 and $5000. In the text below, we'll discuss a few factors that affect the cost of an eyebrow surgery similar to the one outlined above.

Location

This can be said for pretty much anything you buy. It's definitely true if you're talking about any sort of cosmetic enhancement as well. If you want to travel to Hollywood and go under the knife with a surgeon that has an office somewhere off of Rodeo Drive, chances are you're going to pay a lot of money. Property is just super expensive here so the surgeon needs to charge a hefty fee for his services.

Conversely, if you went to Fargo, North Dakota and found an eyebrow transplant specialist, he'd probably be a bit cheaper than his buddy from L.A.

The only thing I really want you to take away from this is that expensive doesn't always mean good. There are many factors, including location, that determine the price of an eyebrow surgery.

Surgeon's Experience And Education

The expertise of the surgeon also plays a pretty big role in the price of an eyebrow implant. Naturally, a doctor who is better trained and has more experience can charge more than some guy who just read an ebook entitled "How To Perform An Eyebrow Transplant". When you're trying to find the right doctor for you, make sure you ask a lot of questions regarding these types of things...

 • What medical school did you go to? Did you graduate with honors?
 • How many eyebrow transplants have you performed? Have you worked with a variety of different types of people or not?
 • Do you have a portfolio of your work? Are there any previous patient's testimonials or reviews available?

This last question is particularly important. It's all good if a doctor says that he's experienced and well trained. How do you know he's telling the truth though? Get some proof before you make a decision.

Type Of Procedure Getting Done

The exact surgery being performed obviously affects the end cost to the patient. If you're getting a full eyebrow transplant done because you've lost your eyebrows in an accident or something, the price is going to be quite high. If you're only interested in "filling out" the brows, though, you'll probably end up paying in the $2000 to $3000 range. This is quite simply because more work needs to be done when a full transplant is taking place. All the hairs have to be grafted into your eyebrow one at a time, you see. This is a very tedious process and will take substantially longer if 300, as opposed to 50, hairs need to be transferred.

So there's a brief guide on the cost of eyebrow implants. Please keep in mind that many factors go into this cost. If you want an accurate quote, your best bet is to contact a few different surgeons and let them know what you're interested in having done. Anyone worth working with will happily help you out.
