Eyebrow Restoration

By

Eyebrow restoration is a hot topic these days.  A lot of people aren't happy with the way their eyebrows appear on their face.  This, understandably, has got a lot of men and women thinking about different ways to restore their eyebrows.  Before we get into a few different ways that this can be done, I think it's important to start from the beginning.  Please keep in mind as you read the following article that I'm not a doctor.  If you're interested in this topic, I highly recommend doing some serious research.  There are a ton of great resources online.  Most doctors and surgeons have their own sites so you can get some great advice from a number of experts.

So why would anyone want to change their eyebrows?  There are a few reasons for this.  Most people thinking about eyebrow restoration have thin eyebrows.  There is either bald patches above their eyes or just a lack of fullness in the brow hair.  This could be a result of a number of different things.  People with almost no hair in their brow have usually suffered through some sort of an accident.  Chemical fires and car wrecks seem to be the biggest culprit here.  If the damage is just on the surface, the eyebrow hairs will regenerate.  If, however, there is nerve damage beneath the skin, chances are the hair will not grow back.  Over plucking is another reason women have a lack of hair in their brow.  This nasty habit can actually permanently damage the eyebrows.

Two Different Methods Of Eyebrow Restoration

After Eyebrow Restoration
After Eyebrow Restoration

If you'd like to restore some of your eyebrows original fullness, there are basically two different ways to go.  One involves surgery and one doesn't.  Now obviously, these two methods are nothing alike.  One of them is temporary and one of them is permanent.  One of them is cheap and one of them is expensive.  Let's start with the cheap, temporary way :)

One great way to fill up your eyebrows without surgery is by using makeup.  Now, this isn't as easy as it seems.  There is a delicate process to follow here and I suggest you consult a cosmetician for best results.  The jist of it involves tweezing and some kind of a filler.  The first thing you want to do is get a good pair of tweezers and even out the brow.  Do this one hair at a time to ensure an even line.  Once you're looking at a nice arc, it's time to fill!  Different women prefer different applicators here.  The most popular one is probably the brow pencil.  When using this item, make sure that you get the color right.  It's also important that you don't use too much pressure when applying the makeup.  The same can be said if you plan on using brow powder.  A new applicator that's been received fairly well in the beauty industry is eye brow gel.  This product is a bit like mascara.  It's tough to apply the first few times but gets much easier after a bit of practice.

If you can't be bothered applying these products everyday, you may want to consider a more permanent form of eyebrow hair restoration.  I'm speaking, of course, about surgery.  Eyebrow transplants are becoming more popular all the time.  While it's not exactly a simple procedure, it's not the most complex either.  With this procedure, you're essentially taking someone else's eyebrow and fastening it to your face.  It usually takes about 2 hours and involves a bit of a financial commitment on the patients part.  It varies depending on the number of hairs you want but the cost of eyebrow restoration surgery is usually about $3000.

Regardless of what method you choose, the goal is a natural look.  Good Luck!
