Eyebrow pencils are a necessary part of every women's make-up arsenal. This really does make a lot of sense. The eyebrows play a vital role in the face's overall appearance. If they're not right, something just looks a little bit off. If used correctly, the eyebrow pencil is essentially a brow shaper. It allows women to create smooth, full natural looking eyebrows without unnecessary eyebrow hair transplants. Applying make-up with these pencils isn't the easiest thing to do in the world though. In this article, we'll cover a few basic techniques that should help. We'll also look at a few different types of eyebrow pencils on the market. As you read through this article, keep in mind that some of the best deals on make-up can be found online. Don't be afraid to look around a little!

Now before you dive right into the application process, it's important to prepare the brow for the make-up.  In order to do this properly, you'll need a good set of tweezers.  Now I'm not a make up expert (could be something to do with the fact that I'm a man!) but here are a few tweezing tips.  First off, the overall goal here isn't to rip out every single hair!  You should be striving for an arch around your eye.  Make sure to take out only one hair at a time.  Slow is good here ladies.  You want to make sure that you don't overdo it.  As general rule...  Less is more.

Using An Eyebrow Pencil To Fill In Thin Brows

So now that you've trimmed up the eyebrows a bit, it's time to fill it in.  Generally speaking, what you want to do here is as follows.  Take the pencil and place it in the middle of your eyebrow.  Now make your way outwards, towards the ear.  Apply a bit of pressure but don't overdo it!  You can always go back again later.  When you hit the edge of your brow, start making your way back in towards the eye.  The more pressure you use, the more color you'll get.

When you think everything looks alright, it's time to clean up the mess.  For this part, I recommend using a toothbrush.  Simply place it underneath your eyebrow and take off any excess make-up.  Some women prefer using a brow brush for this step.  It's up to you really.

What To Look For In An Eyebrow Pencil.

There are a few things that all good pencils should have.  You DON'T want them to be greasy.  The make-up should go on dry - almost like a crayon.  You also want something that is smooth with a light texture.  "Natural" is another big buzzword these days.  If the earth is important to you and you're a fan of going green, check out some natural eyebrow pencils.  I also recommend using a waterproof eyebrow pencil.  You don't want this stuff running into your eyes every time it rains!

There are many reputable brand names in the make-up industry.  I've included a few links to the big ones for your convenience.  Thanks for reading!
